This is a story about a couple who lived long ago and worked very hard chopping wood but did not make much money.
One day, they rescue an imp from underneath a fallen tree. In return, the imp grants them three wishes and tells
the couple to use them wisely. That evening, the couple is trying to decide how to use the wishes when the husband
accidentally wishes for a plate full of sausages. The wife is so mad at how he wasted his wish that she says she
wishes the sausages were stuck on the end of his nose. And of course, the sausages stick to the end of his nose.
The sausages will not come off, so the wife uses the last wish to wish the sausages off of her husband's nose. The
couple eat the sausages for dinner and are happy.

This book is a collection of poems that are meant to be read to children before bedtime. My three favorite poems
are The Puppy's Song, Grandpa's Lullaby, and Grandma's Lullaby. This is a book that I would read to my kids before
bedtime (if I had any).

This selection is about a young girl named Sophy who woke up one morning and discovered that she could fly. No one
listens to her, let alone believes her, except for her great-aunt Pearl who can also fly. Sophy and her great-aunt
Pearl go flying all over the city. They visit the zoo and have ice cream sundaes. No one even notices that they
were gone. The illustrations are fabulous.

This is a fun selection about activities that you can do with a baby. This would be a good book to read to an older
sibling of a new baby.

This selection is about Ms. MacDonald's kindergarten class and the things they do. It is set up in the form of the
song, Old MacDonald, and can be sung to the tune. This would be a fun book for teachers of primary grades
(especially kindergarten) to read to their students.

In this selection, a young boy named Timothy asks his grandfather to tell him a story before he goes to bed. His
grandfather tells him a story about a young Indian boy named Timothy Tall Feather. The funny thing is that the
grandfather keeps falling asleep and Timothy prompts him to change the story, based on correct historical information.

This selection is about a girl named Olivia who is saving up all her money to buy a stuffed black cat with pale
green eyes that she saw in the toy shop window. She wishes for a fairy godmother and a Grade C fairy godmother with
huckleberry-colored eyes appears. A Grade C fairy godmother is a beginner who has limited power and this one is
assigned to lower Manhattan, where Olivia lives. Olivia wishes for the stuffed cat, curly hair, and for the dishes
at home to dry themselves. The fairy godmother can't fulfill any of these wishes, so Olivia asks to visit the fairy
godmother's customers with her. The fairy godmother takes her on her appointments during the week and performs some
pretty neat magic. One day, the fairy godmother leaves a note saying that she won't be coming anymore because she
got promoted to fairy godmother Grade B in uptown Manhattan. She left the stuffed black cat with Olivia, but the
funny thing is that it had huckleberry-colored eyes instead of pale green.

give Katie a gift. He stalls for time and ends up giving Katie the best present of all--a half moon.
