This selection is about a young girl named Samantha who can't sleep and neither can her grandmother. So the two of
them make a fire and fix ice cream sundaes. They decide to start a club in which they meet to eat late at night.

In this selection, Little Critter and his sister go to the beach with their dad. They have some problems, though,
so they end up back home in the wading pool.

This selection is about a boy who thinks he has an alligator under his bed. His parents never see it, though, and
when he looks under his bed, he doesn't see it either. So the boy lures the alligator out from under his bed and
into the garage with some food. He leaves a note to let his dad know that there's an alligator in the garage.

This selection is about a young girl who thinks there is a nightmare in the attic. Her parents don't believe her so
she goes to capture the nightmare. She finds it carrying her teddy bear and lassos it. She goes to show it to her
parents, but the nightmare slips away. The girl decides that she'll get her teddy bear back the next day.

Jack Kent.
This is one of my favorite books from my childhood. It's about a poor couple who live in a tumble down house and
have only turnips to eat. They wish for cheese and milk but have no money. So the wife knits a pair of socks from
the husband's sweater to trade with their neighbors for milk and cheese. The wife does this several more times until
her husband's sweater is all gone. The other wife had been knitting a sweater for her husband from the socks, but
the sweater ended up being too big, so she gives the sweater to her neighbor who doesn't have one.

This is, of course, a twist on the famous "Twas the Night Before Christmas" poem by George McDonald. This time, it's
about Easter and the Easter Bunny.

This selection is about getting ready for Halloween. It is patterned after the famous poem, "Twas the Night before
Christmas." This is a very cute selection.

This selection is about a young girl named Lily who helps raise money for the pedestal fund for the Statue of
Liberty by making and selling paper crowns.

Emily Arnold McCully.
This selection is about Mirette, a young girls who learns to walk on the tightrope after watching the Great
Bellini. Mirette helps the Great Bellini to overcome his fear.

Patricia Polacco.
This is a beauty selection about three grandchildren that love their grandmother and want to buy her a hat that she
has admired for a long time. They earn the money to buy the hat by making Polish Easter eggs and selling them at
Mr. Kodinski's hat shop.

Margaree King Mitchell (Illustrator - James Ransome).
This is a beautiful story about a young girl's Uncle Jed who is saving up to own a barber shop. But when Sarah gets
sick and needs an operation, Uncle Jed gives her dad the money. Uncle Jed finally gets to open his barber shop when
he is 79 years old.

This is a tall tale about Pecos Bill who got lost as a young boy on his way to Texas with his family, was raised by
coyotes, and became the best rancher in the West.
